Glen R. Overton, 80, of Big Spring died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at Myers & Smith Chapel with the family receiving friends immediately following the service. Burial will be at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

He was born June 2, 1931, in Big Spring to Fannie and James Overton. He worked in construction in Arizona for 35 years. He married Frances Edens on Oct. 9, 1993. He was a member of Central Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Edens Overton of Big Spring; one son, Glen W. Overton of Big Spring; one daughter, Vicky Fontana of Coahoma; one step-daughter, Annette Williams of Big Spring; three step-sons, Barney Edens and wife Jo Lee, Buster Edens and wife Mary and Dan Edens, all of Big Spring; one sister, Cora Conn of Big Spring; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Donald M. Overton; one sister, Ruby Pike; and two brothers, Raymond Overton and Maurice Overton.
