Glenn Pleas 'Fuzzy' Dickenson Jr.

Glenn Pleas “Fuzzy” Dickenson Jr, 88, of Big Spring passed away Friday, June 6, 2014, in Big Spring. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

Glenn was born Aug. 20, 1925, in Lamesa to Glenn and Alice (Banta) Dickenson. He attended schools in Andrews, Fort Worth and Lamesa. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in September of 1943 and served 17 months as a private first class. He returned to Lamesa and worked several years as a roughneck in the old fields of West Texas before beginning his career as a cotton farmer east of the Sparenberg community. He married Mable Timmins of Big Spring Aug. 16, 1956, in Lovington, N.M. Glenn and Mable moved to Big Spring in 1975 and continued farming until his retirement in 1988.

Mable preceded him in death Feb. 11, 2005.

He is survived by son, Junior Barber of Big Spring; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

In addition to his wife, Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sue Barber Semmes; and sister, Geraldine “Jerri” Hanson.
