Gregorio (George) Bustamante

Mr. Gregorio (George) Bustamante of San Antonio, Texas, formerly of Big Spring, Texas, passed away at the age of 89 on July 1, 2014. He was born on March 12, 1925, to Ejinio and Paz Bustamante of Barstow, Texas.

He married Margarita Vasquez, served in the U.S. Army and worked at Pyote AFB before moving to Big Spring, Texas, in 1954 and worked at Webb AFB in the motorpool until his retirement in 1976.

He was a Crusillista and sang with a mariachi group from Midland, Texas.

He is survived by four daughters and three sons, Rosemary West, Antonio (Isabel) Bustamante, Emelia (Ismael) Paradez, Jose Manuel (Nora) Bustamante, George Bustamante, Monica (John) Rodriguez and Veronica (Chip) Descombs; one brother, Ramon Bustamante of Midland, Texas; 23 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Frederico (Freddy) Bustamante; one grandson; and numerous brothers and sisters.

Rosary was held at Ortiz Funeral Home with graveside services and burial at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
