Gregorio 'George' Martinez

Gregorio “George“ Martinez, 81, of Big Spring, died Saturday, March 15, 2014, at his home. Vigil services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

He was born Jan. 19, 1933, to Isabel and Ventura Martinez in Eldorado, Texas. He spent most of his life in Big Spring and owned George Martinez Body Shop for more than 35 years. He married Luz Guzman on April 12, 1953. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife Luz Martinez of Big Spring; two sons, Joe Martinez of Big Spring and Freddy Martinez and wife, Terry, of Saginaw, Texas; and six sisters.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
