Guadalupe R. 'Lupe' Gonzales

Guadalupe R. “Lupe” Gonzales, 86, of Big Spring died Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Vigil services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral mass will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will be at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

She was born Jan. 4, 1926, in Del Rio, Texas, to Teodora and Felipe Ramirez. She moved to Big Spring in 1941and married Carmen Gonzales on Sept. 7, 1948, in Big Spring. He preceded her in death Feb. 6, 2007.

She was a homemaker, but was also employed at the Big Spring State Hospital for 19 years and at Scenic Mountain Medical Center for 20 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Beatrice DeLeon and Maria Gonzalez of Arlington; two sons, Robert Gonzales of San Antonio and Carmen Gonzales, Jr. and Elaine of Dallas; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Jose Gonzales; two sisters, Lola Ramirez and Frances Carrillo; and four brothers, Felipe Ramirez, Jose Ramirez, Camilo Ramirez and Octaviano Ramirez.
