Guadalupe R. 'Lupe' Gonzales

Guadalupe R. “Lupe” Gonzales, 86, of Big Spring died Monday, August 27, 2012, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Vigil services were at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will be at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

She was born Jan. 4, 1926, in Del Rio, Texas to Teodora and Felipe Ramirez. She moved to Big Spring in 1941. She married Carmen Gonzales on Sept. 7, 1948, in Big Spring. He preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 2007. She was a homemaker, but also worked at the Big Spring State Hospital as a supervisor for 19 years, and at Scenic Mountain Medical Center in X-ray for 20 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Beatrice DeLeon and (Maria Gonzalez) of Arlington; two sons, Robert Gonzales of San Antonio, and Carmen Gonzales Jr. and (Elaine) of Dallas; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Jose Gonzales, two sisters, Lola Ramirez and Frances Carrillo; and four brothers, Felipe Ramirez, Jose Ramirez, Camilo Ramirez and Octaviano Ramirez.

Pallbearers will be Daniel DeLeon, Jr., Eric Gonzales, Robert Gonzales, Jr., Joe Gonzales, Jonathan Gonzales and Frank Ramirez. Honorary pallbearers will be Jojo Gonzales and Octaviano "Nano" Gonzales.
