The Big Spring Symphony Guild will host its second annual “Dressed to a Tea” fundraiser 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9 at First Christian Church, 911 Goliad.
Tickets for the event are $15 per person and reservations can be made by calling 432-264-7671.
“Dressed to a Tea” will include a luncheon/tea and Victorian style show. Seating is limited, so people are urged to make their reservations soon. School aged children are welcome with an accompanying adult.
“Dress to a tea in your favorite tea attire and come play 'dress up' as we support the Big Spring Symphony,” said Eulaine McIntosh of the symphony guild
The style show will include Victorian fashions by Midland Theater Costumer Karen Graves. Included in the fashion show will be costuming from Midland Community Theater and Graves’ personal collection of authentic period clothing.
Midland Mall’s Dillard’s Store also will offer current fashions from its collection. Junior Guild members and students from around Howard County will model for the event.
“For your ticket price, each guest will receive lunch with gourmet teas, Valentine trivia, table favors and door prizes donated by area businesses,” McIntosh said. “A silent auction will also be held during tea time. Pianist Ruth Jackson will gift guests with music and Lane Bond will be on hand to take photographs of guests in their 'tea attire.'”
Tea and luncheon will be served by Symphony Guild members and junior volunteers.
“Bring your Valentine or adopt a mom, grandma, son or daughter for the day and join us for this Valentine Victorian tea and fashion show,” McIntosh added.
