H. Floyd Shifflett

Rev. H. Floyd Shifflett, 85, of Sweetwater, Texas, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012, at Sweetwater Health Care. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, at Sweetwater Cemetery with the Rev. Carolyn Easter officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home.
He was born June 26, 1926, in Roby, Texas, to David and Ola Shifflett. He married Dorothy Hines Nov. 17, 1950, in Roby.
He was a member of Faith Harvest Pentecostal Church of Sweetwater and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. He was a pastor for more than 50 years before retiring.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Shifflett of Sweetwater, Texas; two daughters, Carolyn Easter of Big Spring, Texas, and Samantha Mrazek of Palestine, Texas; two sons, David Shifflett of Sweetwater, Texas, and Henry Floyd Shifflett II and wife Ann of Fayetteville, Ark.; two sisters, Peggy Franklin of Sweetwater, Texas, and Ethelene Shifflett of Spartanburg, S.C.; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Kathlene Shifflett; eight brothers; one sister; his parents, David and Ola Shifflett; five grandsons; and three great-granddaughters.
Arrangements are under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater.
