LUBBOCK — The momentum from a 20 out of 25 streak to end the regular season didn’t carry over for the Howard Hawks in the Region V Tournament in Lubbock over the weekend.
Howard lost 7-4 in their opening game with Grayson County College Friday night, and 9-4 to Hill College on Saturday.
“We just got beat the first game. We played fine. They got a couple more hits than we got, but it was a good game. We competed and played well, and they were throwing the number two prospect in the country,” Howard head coach Britt Smith said. “We had our chances. We made an error in a tie game…Drew just couldn’t get it across the infield and Foust couldn’t pick it.”
