HC, SWCID commencement ceremonies slated for Friday

A new set of hawks will take flight this week seeking future fortunes, as Howard College and the SouthWest Collegiate Institute for the Deaf (SWCID) will be hosting a number of graduation or pinning ceremonies beginning today.
This morning, students in the Licensed Vocational Nurse program at the Big Spring campus received their ceremonial pins. The ceremony was held at the Dorothy Garrett Coliseum, 1001 Birdwell Lane.
On Friday, SWCID will host its spring commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. The event will be held at the Activities Building, 3200 Avenue C.
At 1 p.m., the Howard College Dental Hygiene program will host a pinning ceremony at the Hall Center for the Arts located on the Big Spring campus, 1001 Birdwell Lane. A third pinning ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. in the East Room of the Dorothy Garrett Coliseum. This is for students who are graduating with Associates Degrees in Nursing.
Later that night, Howard College will hold commencement ceremonies for its spring graduates at 7 p.m. on the floor of the Dorothy Garrett Coliseum.
