HC tightens purse strings

The decrease in student enrollment has prompted officials with the Howard County Junior College District to tighten up the purse strings.

“This year’s budget is tight just to the fact we have had a decrease in enrollment, which of course means our revenue was down for both our San Angelo budget and the Big Spring budget. Our SWCID (SouthWest Collegiate Institute for the Deaf) budget is tracking right on target.” Howard College President Dr. Cheryl Sparks told college trustees Monday.
