Health care providers to get scrutiny

August 9, 2012

For those wanting to know where the medical community stands this year, the State of the Community Series Part 3: Medical Update — set for Aug. 21 — will provide that information.

Reports will be delivered by Ed Moughon, CEO of Big Spring State Hospital; Dr. Judith Madura, CEO of South Plains Rural Health Services; Larry Rodgers, CEO of Scenic Mountain Medical Center; and Dan Marsh, CEO of West Texas VA Health Care Systems.

“All of our community series have been education for the entire community. We have fantastic medical facilities and they provide great services,” Debbye ValVerde, Executive Director of Big Spring Area Chamber of Commerce said. “This is a great way for residents to gain insight on how to utilize the health care centers we have in Howard County.”

The program will take place on the Howard College campus in the Cactus Room. The serving line will open at 7:30 a.m. and the program is set to start at 7:50 a.m. It should conclude before 9 a.m. Tickets can be purchased through Aug. 16 for $12.

“There will be lots of information provided on how our community and county residents can make all of our facilities better and how we can utilize what is right here in our own backyard,” ValVerde said.

To purchase tickets, stop by the chamber office, located at 215 W. Third. For more information, call 263-7641.
