Highland Parade Monday

June 30, 2011

Patriotism isn't just for adults.

For more than 30 years, the Highland July 4 Parade has shown that you don't have to be a grownup to show your love for all things red, white and blue.

The annual parade will be held along Highland Drive Monday morning, said Melanie Laudermilk, one of the event's organizers.

The parade, featuring children decked out in all kinds of patriotic regalia, begins at 10 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Highland and Robb drives and will end at the intersection of Highland and Goliad.

Entries will be accepted the day of the parade. Participants are asked to arrive by 9:30 a.m. so the judges will have plenty of time to view the entries, Laudermilk said.
