November 24, 2010

Most municipal and school operations will shut down for the Thanksgiving weekend, officials announced.

Except for emergency services, City of Big Spring offices will be closed Thursday and Friday. This includes trash collection and landfill operations. Offices will resume normal operations Monday.

The same holds true for Howard County offices, which will close at 3 p.m. today and remain closed through the weekend. These include the library and senior center. Emergency services will remain open, officials said.

Students at Big Spring Independent School District were dismissed from classes for the Thanksgiving holiday Tuesday afternoon. Classes will resume Monday.

Howard College will not hold classes today through Friday. Normal operations resume Monday.

Coahoma ISD will dismiss classes for the holiday at 12:30 p.m. today. Students will be back in class Monday.

Forsan ISD dismissed classes Tuesday afternoon for the remainder of the week, officials said.
