Horace E. Tubb, 89, passed away at his home Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Joey Bacon, Crossroads Hospice Chaplain, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

He was born Sept. 14, 1924, in Prescott, Ark., but was a lifelong resident of Big Spring. He married Jewel Moore June 25, 1944 in Big Spring, Texas.

Horace had farmed in Howard, Martin, Glasscock and Midland counties and was always very proud of his “cotton crop.” He wanted a good crop every year and was able to make it even in the dry years. He also loved raising livestock and was especially proud of his buffalo herd. He liked having pecans, a garden of vegetables, and loved watermelons and was always willing to share.

He was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his three children, Richie Tubb and wife, Jill of Big Spring, Gloria Hanson and husband, Lavell of Midland, Texas, and Patricia Eubanks and husband, Kenneth of Big Spring; and one sister, Addie Blizzard of Midland. He had seven grandchildren, Angela Crowley, Brian Tubb, Hali Petrowski, Kyle Hanson, Jeff Eubanks, Craig Eubanks and Matt Eubanks; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jewel; grandson, Todd Hanson; and three brothers and five sisters.

The family suggest memorials be made to Crossroads Hospice, 421 Main St., Big Spring, Texas 79720 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater West Texas Chapter, 4400 N. Big Spring, Suite C-32, Midland, Texas 79705.

The family extends a special thanks to Dora Lozano for her loving care of Horace and to Crossroads Hospice of Big Spring for their dedicated care.
