Ike (Clarence) Francis Watznauer

Ike (Clarence) Francis Watznauer, 84, of Big Spring, died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, 2014, at the Alive In Christ Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
Ike was born June 15, 1930, in Fort Madison, Iowa to William and Genevieve (Kramer) Watznauer. He married Eva Woodall McCannon June 24, 1953, in Big Spring, Texas. She preceded him in death March 12, 1990. He then married Ouida Arant Watznauer May 19, 1990. She preceded him in death July 14, 2014.

He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. When first moving to Big Spring, he worked in the oil fields and later owned and operated a filling station on the east edge of Big Spring.

He is survived by eight siblings, Laverne Boeding, Vera Boeding and Raymond Watznauer of West Point, Iowa, Pauline Blint, Lucille Fedler, Floyd Watznauer and Bernard Watznauer of Fort Madison, Iowa, and Rita Miller of Burlington, Iowa; step-children, Paula Abbott of Terrell, Texas, Jerry Moncrief of Canyon Lake, Texas and preceded in death Wayne McCannon. He has eight step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
