Iona M. Hardison, 91, of Big Spring, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014 at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014, at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Trinity Memorial Park Peace Chapel with the Rev. Andy Miller officiating.

She was born March 3, 1923, in Waco, Texas to Ada Lee and Dewey Miller Martin. She married Edwin Glen Hardison Sept. 2, 1939 in Aquilla, Texas (Hill Country). He preceded her in death. She had been a resident of Big Spring for more than 54 years. She was a member of Philadelphia Primitive Baptist Church and a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Carroll Hardison and wife Pat of Big Spring; two daughters, Suzanne Montague and husband Jim of Guffy, Colo. and Debbie Burrow and husband Guy of Big Spring; son-in-law, Chalmer Wren and wife Norma of Stanton; eight grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two daughters, Kathy Wren and Baby Hardison; one sister, Oleta Burton; and a brother, Dewey Martin.
