Iris Elizabeth McGlothlin, 89, of Big Spring passed away Nov. 8, 2011. She was born in Bartlett, Texas, on Aug. 8, 1922. She married Carl McGlothlin on Jan. 16, 1946, in Temple, Texas.
Their first home was in Yokohama, Japan. She and Carl loved to travel and toured Europe, as well as the United States. They moved to Big Spring in the fall of 1962 and became active members of First Baptist Church. She also was a life member of Eastern Star and a past Worthy Matron.
She is survived by her daughter, Ayn and husband Dave Canning. She has three granddaughters, Kathryn and husband John Ivey, Heather and husband Brad Coats and Kimberly and husband Daniel Blackaby. Iris had three great-grandchildren, Hannah Ivey, Jet and Brittney Coats. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She is dearly missed by her Papillion companion, Tybalt.
In honor of her wishes, there will not be any services. Her request was for her friends and family to say "I love you" to someone and remember happy times spent together.
