Isidora ‘Lola’ Salgado

Funeral services for Isidora “Lola” Salgado have been set for 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Msgr. Tim Schwertner officiating and Deacon Clemente Villa assisting. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Isidora, age 89, passed away in Stanton. She was born in San Antonio del Bravo, Chihuahua, Mexico, on April 4, 1922. Her parents were Felix Martinez and Lyz Prieto.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Salgado; a son, Abelado Salgado; and her parents, Felix and Lyz Martinez.
She married Jose Salgado on Feb. 3, 1942. She was a homemaker for her family all her life and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church,
She is survived by four daughters, Irma Porras of Odessa, Texas, Maria Antonio Pena of Greenwood, Texas, Elodia Bravo of Stanton, Texas, and Linda Garcia of Odessa, Texas; three sons, Frank Salgado of Spearman, Texas, Jose Salgado of Greenwood, Texas, and Guillermo Salgado of Spearman, Texas; sisters, Cruz Sanchez of Stanton, Texas, Sophia Townes of Kermit, Texas, and Gloria Torres of Des Moines, Iowa; and two brothers, Benjamin and Jose Martinez of Odessa, Texas.
She also had numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The pallbearers will be her grandsons, Stephen Santiago, Joey Salgado, Edgar Pena, Eric Pena, Anthony Bravo and Mathew Garcia.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Stanton Memorial Funeral Home & Chapel.
