J. Dudley Cotz

J. Dudley Cotz, 63, of Big Spring died Saturday, July 6, 2013, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at the Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Joey Bacon officiating.
J. Dudley was born June 2, 1950, in Tucson, Ariz., to Delight Carrie Evans Cotz and Melvin Clyde Cotz and married Darlene Bursch on May 11, 1998, in Kermit, Texas. He was a Vietnam veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy from 1969 to 1973. After his tour in the Navy he worked in the oilfield and Carlsbad potash mines. He also worked in law enforcement.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene Cotz-Bursch of Big Spring; a stepdaughter, Evalita Perez-Bobb and husband Dave of Lubbock; two stepsons, Christopher Perez and wife Kristine of Genoa City, Wisc., and Royce Perez of Phoenix, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Rosita Boyd and husband Curtis of Marble Falls, Okla., and Mel-Anne Barker of Nevada.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Joesph Cotz, Walter Cotz and James Cotz; and one sister, Joyce Peacock.
