J. Juanita Bryant

J. Juanita Bryant, 84, of Big Spring, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 4, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Doris Haynes officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

She was born in Loraine, Texas, on Dec. 1, 1928, to Clem and Cora Wilkerson. She married the love of her life, J. Weldon Bryant, on Aug. 9, 1974, and both were faithful members of First Baptist Church in Big Spring, where she sang in the senior adult choir.

Juanita worked at First National Bank until retirement. She was the picture of love, generosity and kindness and could light up a room with her presence.

Juanita was preceded in death by her siblings, Agnes Altom, Herman Wilkerson, Fred and Ed Wilkerson and Opal Mealer, all of Big Spring, Leonard (Tutor) Wilkerson of San Angelo and Dorothy Miller of Dickinson, Texas; and her husband, J. Weldon Bryant.

She is survived by two loving sons, David Shortes of Odessa and Rickey Shortes of San Antonio; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many other beloved friends and family members.
