James Albert Gilbert Sr., 69, of Big Spring, died Monday, November 04, 2013 at his residence.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 07, 2013 in the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. No other services are planned at this time.

James was born April 1, 1944 in Quitaque, Texas, and began working as a tractor mechanic for Driver Implement while he was still in high school. Soon after he started working for Broughton Implement and then several places around the country. In 1992 he opened his own shop where he continued with his love of tractors.

Survivors include his son James Gilbert Jr. and wife Shele of Coahoma; his daughter Debra Ann Gilbert, of DeSoto; three sisters, Brenda White and husband Jonathan, Marian Buzbee and husband Charles, and Drew Lopez and husband Andy, all of Big Spring; two grandson Garret Cline and Justin Cline; two granddaughters Shelbie Gilbert and Sydnie Gilbert; several nieces and nephews and a whole host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Gordie (Huff) Gilbert.
