James McVicars

James McVicars, 85, of Midland died Saturday, May 19, 2012, at the Parkview Nursing Home in Big Spring. Memorial services will be held in Toronto, Canada, at a later date.

He was born in Stirling, Scotland, March 27, 1927, and after serving in the British Marines moved to Toronto, Canada. James worked as a dance instructor for many years, opening studios in Jacksonville, Florida and Lubbock, Texas. He later started a construction business in Midland, Texas.

Survivors include three daughters, Tina McVicars of Lubbock, and Tammy McVicars and Patsy McVicars, both of Toronto, Canada; one son, Shaun McVicars of Forsan; and seven grandchildren.
