Janie Fierro, 65, of Big Spring died Sunday, June 16, 2013, in Conroe, Texas. Vigil services will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will be at Mount Olive Memorial Park.
She was born Dec. 13, 1947, in Mexico to Maria and Encarnacion Jauregui. She moved to Big Spring in 1966 and married Tony Fierro on March 8, 1967. He passed June 9, 1991.
She was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish and DeColores. She was a Cursillista. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked many years at LaPosada, Carlos and Casa Blanco restaurants.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Lou Fierro of College Station and Laura Fierro and fiance Jack Paredez of Big Spring; one brother, Jose Jauregui and wife Juana of Juarez, Mexico; one sister, Alicia Gonzalez Jauregui of Juarez, Mexico; six grandsons, Adrian Banuelos of San Antonio, Benjamin Islas of College Station, A.J. Rueda of Odessa, Matthew Villa of Big Spring, Ivan Rueda of Odessa and Rene Villa Jr. of Big Spring; one granddaughter, Amanda Rueda of College Station; and two step-grandchildren, Jenae Villa and Sonny Leos, both of Kansas.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by one sister, Maria Naranjo; and two brothers, Antonio Jauregui and Guadalupe Jauregui.
Pallbearers are Adrian Banuelos, Benjamin Islas, A.J. Rueda, Ivan Rueda, Matthew Villa, Rene Villa Jr. and Michael Dutchover. Honorary pallbearers are Carlos and Marcos Paredez.
