Janis M. Halstead

Janis M. Halstead, 61, formerly of Big Spring and a long-time Tucson, Ariz., resident, passed peacefully and gracefully into the loving arms of God on Jan. 22, 2014, after a prolonged illness.
She was born Sept. 22, 1952, in Big Spring, Texas, to Richard and Betty Reagan. Janis was employed as the farm operations administrator at Al-Marah Arabians for 20 years and was a long-time member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She will always be remembered by friends, customers, co-workers and family for her joie-de-vivre, good heart, spirited nature and Christian compassion.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Edwin Halstead of Tucson; her son, Michael Bailey (Tracy Wells-Long) of Tucson; her daughter, Julia Bentley (Eric Bentley) of Tucson; and three grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, Betty Reagan of Big Spring, Texas; and two brothers, Darrel Reagan of Big Spring and John Reagan of Waco, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard and her grandparents.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the ASPCA or St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
