Jean Powell

Jean Powell, 76, of Wichita Falls, passed away Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012.
Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

A daughter of the late Melvin and Hassie Belle (Weems) Anderson, she was born Sept. 13, 1935, in Velmore, Texas. She retired from Helen Farabee where she worked as a case manager 20 years. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles, and loved her pets dearly.

She is survived by her daughter, Daury Lynn Powell of Wichita Falls; her son, D.W. Powell and wife Tina; a granddaughter, Charli Girardi-Northcutt, all of Midland; and her brother, Sonny Anderson of Big Spring.
