Jerline Pauline Halfmann, 92, of Amarillo,Texas, formerly of Big Spring, Texas, passed away Saturday, Aug.16, 2014, at the Ussery Roan Texas State Veterans Home in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014, at the Nalley Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel in Big Spring. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, at the funeral home.
Jerline was born Aug. 29, 1921, in Rowena, Texas, and married Eugene Henry Halfmann Sr. Nov. 16, 1949, in Wall, Texas. In her earlier years, Jerline was employed by the Veterans Administration Hospital in dietetics and Jack and Jill Daycare.
She was a doting wife, mother and grandmother, and was fondly referred to as “Memo.” Jerline was a wonderful person with an incredible sense of humor and cared more about others than herself. She brought infinite joy and always saw the best in people. She loved nature and always had a vegetable garden. Even with failing eyesight, she wrote weekly letters to all her loved ones.
She is survived by her two sons, Eugene Halfmann, Jr. and wife Sandy of Tulsa, Okla., and Greg Halfmann and wife Cindy of Tampa, Fla.; two daughters, Linda Halfmann of Amarillo and Cindy Worthan of Big Spring; four grandchildren, Amanda Claxton of Tulsa, Okla., Chad Webb of Durham, N.C, Whitney Rodriguez of Midland, Texas, and Drake Worthan of Big Spring; two great-grandchildren, Kassidy Claxton and Annabelle Webb; and one sister, Janet Nolder of Austin, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Eugene Henry Halfmann Sr.
