Jerry Emerson Garrett

Jerry Emerson Garrett, 78, of Forsan, Texas, was born Sept. 15, 1935 to Emerson and Doris Garrett in Prescott, Ark. He went home to be with the Lord March 15, 2014 after a brief illness.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel.

Jerry married Marie Free Aug. 2, 1958 in Colorado City, Texas. They have resided in Forsan for the past 54 years.

He worked in the oilfield for more than 50 years. His dedication, work ethic, and loyalty to the oil field were directly tied to his dedication, loyalty, and love of his family.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Garrett of Forsan; one son, Kelly Garrett and wife, Shelley of Big Spring; one daughter, Cindy Wilson and husband, Loren of Forsan; two brothers, Willie Garrett and wife, Mildred, and Mack Garrett all of Colorado City; four sisters, Jo Nell Pilkington, Rachael Winn and Carolyn Maberry all of Colorado City, and June Hickson and husband, Harlin of Loraine, Texas; one sister-in-law, Maria Garrett of Hobbs, N.M.; four grandchildren, Kyle Hale, Brea Wilson, Morgan Garrett and Erica Garrett; and 2 great-grandchildren, Reese Hale and Jazzy Hale.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emerson and Doris Garrett, and one brother, Tom Garrett.
