Jerry Thomas Walton, 68, of Big Spring died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday with a funeral service at 7:30 p.m. at Myers & Smith Chapel.

He was born Aug. 29, 1945, in Snyder, Texas to Ruth and J. T. Walton. He had been a resident of Big Spring for more than 50 years, coming from Lubbock. He married Juanita Hernandez Feb. 20, 2005, in Big Spring. He was a self-employed automobile mechanic.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita Walton of Big Spring; four daughters, Lisa Garcia and her husband, Tony, of San Angelo, Cynthia Morin and her husband, Hector, of Big Spring, Cindy Walton of Rome, Ga., and Sandy Hernandez of Big Spring; two sons, J. T. Walton and his wife, Vivian, of Midland and Billy Ray Walton and his wife, Glenda, of Coahoma; one sister, Judy Gardner of Big Spring; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
