Jesusita 'Chuy' Lopez

Jesusita "Chuy" Lopez, 85, of Big Spring died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at her residence. Vigil services will be at 7: p.m.Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

She was born Dece.24, 1927, in Pecos, Texas, to Filomena (Gomez) and Macedonio Segovia. She married Jose Lopez on May 4, 1946, in Pecos, Texas. She has been a resident of Big Spring for more than 59 years. She sold Avon for many years and was known as "Bingo Queen." She was a lifetime member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and was a Cursillitista.

She is survived by her children, Joe Lopez Jr. and wife Bertha of Houston, Deacon Victor Lopez and wife Mary of Midland, Adolfo Lopez and Maria Louisa Hilario and husband Victor, all of Big Spring, Juan Lopez and wife Sofia and Pedro Lopez and wife Naomi, all of Midland, Socorro Mata and husband Robert of Big Spring, Teresa Ramirez of Fort Worth, Cynthia Lopez of Dallas and Jennifer Lopez of Big Spring; 30 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; two sisters: Avelina Montoya and Julia Briones; and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jose V. Lopez on June 6, 2012, several brothers and one sister.
