Jimmy Bledsoe Sr.

Jimmy Bledsoe, Sr., 60, of Big Spring, died Tuesday Jan. 14, 2014, at Texas Specialty Hospital in Lubbock, Texas. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday Jan. 17, 2014, at Trinity Memorial Park Peace Chapel. Dr. Doug Shelley will officiate.

He was born to Patsy and Clyde Bledsoe Nov. 24, 1953, in Cleburne, Texas. He was a longtime resident of Howard County moving to Big Spring in 1969 from Cleburne. On Aug. 21, 1971, he married Rhonda King in Big Spring. He was a Baptist. He drove a truck for McMahon Concrete for many years before retiring due to ill health.

He is survived by two sons: Jimmy Bledsoe Jr. and wife Amy and David Bledsoe all of Big Spring; four daughters: Heather Friday, Lisa Hodges, Angel Bledsoe and husband Larry Marquez and Christina Bledsoe, all of Big Spring; one sister Linda Gillette and husband Pete of Big Spring; one brother Charles Bledsoe and wife Beverly of California; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Rhonda in 2006; one son, Tracy Bledsoe in 1980; and one brother, Ronnie Bledsoe in 1997.
