Jimmy C. Nelson, 70, of Big Spring died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at the funeral home.

Jim was born Aug.14, 1943, in Big Spring and married Betty Dennis June 3, 1967, in Big Spring.

He joined the United States Navy when he was a sophomore in high school and served until 1964. He was an oilfield electrician and was part owner of A&N Electric and then Jimco Electric.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Nelson; two daughters, Debbie Wylie and husband Jake, and Brandi Holguin and husband Ruben; four grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Carol Raczka and husband Joe; and a niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adison and Ethel (McMurray) Nelson; and one brother, William "Bill" Nelson.
