JoAnn Howell-Mason, 66, of Big Spring died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at her residence. The family will receive friends from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Chapel with Pastor Phil Babcock, pastor of New Testament Baptist Church of Midland, officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3 pm. at Resthaven North Cemetery in Midland, Texas.
She was born Sept. 18, 1946, in Lamesa, Texas, to Fannie (Richardson) and C.W. Smith. She was a resident of Big Spring for more than 17 years, coming from Midland. She was a member of New Life Ministries C.O.G.I.C. She was employed at the Big Spring State Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Odell Mason of Big Spring; three sons, Melsyki Edwards of Big Spring, Khaki Edwards of Midland and Jared Edwards of Midland; three daughters, Pebbles Evans of Abilene, April Edwards of Dallas and Didget Post of Big Spring; three brothers, Vernon Smith of Levelland, Jimmy Ray Smith of Lubbock and Mart Smith of Midland; one sister, Pamela Vaughn of Midland; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Don Smith; and a grandson.
