Joe "Old_Horse" Kerby, 67, of Sand Springs, died Thursday, May 8, 2014, in an Odessa hospital. Funeral services will be held at a later date.

He was born July 17, 1946, in Big Spring, Texas and married Jan Kerby Aug. 16, 1978, in Big Spring.
He was a lifelong resident of Big Spring and had worked for L.G. Nix Dirt Company for 28 years and Chapman Construction for 15 years. He also owned and operated Kerby Construction.

Survivors include wife, Jan Kerby of Big Spring; two sons, Calvin Kerby and wife, Lillian of Big Spring and Bobby Joe Kerby of Pennsylvania; his mother, Teresa Kerby of Sulpher Springs; and a brother, Bobbie Lee Kerby and wife, Charlene of Sulpher Springs.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bob Kerby; two daughters, Laura and Lisa Kerby; two brothers, Gene and Sam Kerby; a step-son, Michael Hollcroft; and a great-grandson, Anthony Ryan Kerby.
