Joe Martin Doporto, 55, of Big Spring died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, in Arlington, Texas. Vigil services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Msgr. Bernard L. Gully officiating. Burial will be at Mount Olive Memorial Park.
He was born March 20, 1957, in Big Spring, Texas, to Mary Helen (Martin) and Jose Valdemar Doporto. He was a lifetime resident of Big Spring except for living in Arlington, Texas, from 2000 until 2005. He had worked at Pizza Inn in Big Spring and for Mansfield Pizza in Mansfield, Texas. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
He is survived by his father, Jose Doporto of Big Spring; five brothers, John Doporto and wife Crystal of San Antonio, Danny Doporto of Grand Prairie, Robert Doporto and wife Moraima of Odessa, Michael Doporto and wife Patricia of Big Spring and Chris Doporto of Waxahachie; two sisters, Sandra Doporto and Lora Doporto, both of Grand Prairie; a number of nieces and nephews; and four great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother: Mary Helen Doporto.
