John Phillip Wilson

John Phillip Wilson died Friday, May 23, 2014, in a local hospital. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2014, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014, at the First Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Mark Lindsey, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

He was born Jan. 21, 1936, in Lubbock. John attended school in Lubbock and Lamesa. He graduated from Lamesa High School in 1955 and attended Hardin-Simmons University, graduating with a BBA in 1960. He became a Certified Public Accountant March 24, 1967. He served in the U.S. Army from September 1960 to September 1962, being discharged as a 1st Lieutenant.

John was a member of the First Baptist Church of Big Spring. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife Peggy Wilson of Big Spring; his daughter, Valerie Lynn Wilson Gammon and husband, Thomas Austin Gammon of Austin; three grandsons; one sister, Nancy Ford of Elroy, Utah; and one brother, James Edward Wilson.

He was preceded in death by his son, John Phillip Wilson Jr.
