John Robert 'Bob' Scott

John Robert "Bob" Scott, 83, of Big Spring, Texas, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, at the First Christian Church in Big Spring with the Dr. Ken McIntosh and the Rev. Clark Ford officiating. Graveside services will be held at 4 p. Tuesday at Mount Evergreen Cemetery in Pecos, Texas.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
Bob was born Oct. 16, 1929, in Burgettstown, Pa. He attended Randolph-Macon Military School in Front Royal Virginia, then moved to San Antonio, Texas, with his family in 1944.
He graduated from Alamo Heights High School and St. Mary's University. Upon his graduation, he passed the CPA exam to become one of the youngest licensed CPAs in the country. Bob practiced accounting for more than 50 years, much of which was in Pecos, where he entered the banking business in the early 1970s.
Bob remained active in the industry until his death. He had been a resident of Big Spring since 1993 and was a member of the First Christian Church.
He was married to Eileen Flock for 37 years and she preceded him in death. Bob then married Carol Ann Winter, who survives him. Other survivors include his five children, John R. Scott Jr. and wife Cynthia of Big Spring, David Scott and wife Patti of Van Horn, Richard Naylor and wife Darla of Mesquite, Cindy Scott Wabner and husband Doug of Dallas, and Melodee Blalock and husband Brian of Huntsville; two sisters, Barbara Schulte and husband Jay of San Antonio and Jeannette Wyman of Austin; five grandchildren who were the delight of his life; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Stewart Scott and Dorothy Fabre Scott.
