Johnny Ray Liedecke, 55, of Big Spring died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, in Scurry County, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at the funeral home.
He was born Aug. 15, 1956, in San Antonio, Texas, and married Guadalupe Salazar on March 5, 1987, in Colorado City, Texas.
John served in the United States Army. He moved to Big Spring in 1989 from Colorado City and worked for the city of Big Spring as an animal control officer for a number of years. He was currently working for Colorado River Municipal Water District. John also served with the Jonesboro Volunteer Fire Department.
He was a member of Church of God Prophecy.
Survivors include his wife, Guadalupe Liedecke of Big Spring; three daughters, Melanie Garcia and husband Paul of Silverdale, Wash., Naomi Valencia of Big Spring and Dolores Liedecke and husband Stephen Cruz of San Antonio; 14 grandchildren; his mother, Mary Compa of Sweetwater; three brothers; and eight sisters.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Frank Liedecke; and a granddaughter.
