Jose Chavez

Jose Chavez, 30, of Garden City, Texas, was killed in an automobile accident Nov. 29, 2012.

He was born Feb. 24, 1982 in Rio Verde, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, to Jose Jesus Chavez and the late Maria Del Rosario Torres de Chavez.

He began working at Eco-Drip Irrigation as a warehouse helper eventually became warehouse manager. He enjoyed hunting, dancing and barbecuing.

He is survived by his wife, Myra Chavez Salcedo of Garden City; sons, Cesar Alejandro Chavez Villareal and Jesus Chavez Villareal of Garden City; daughter, Genisis Chavez Salcedo of Garden City; father, Jose Jesus Chavez of Stanton; brother, Jose Guadalupe Chavez Torres and wife, Angelica Chavez of Garden City; sister, Maria Concepcion Chavez de Mateo and husband, Tomas Mateo Cruz of Acuna, Mexico; paternal grandparents, Pablo Chavez and Bartola Rodriquez of Acuna, Mexico; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Maria Del Rosario Torres de Chavez; and an uncle Jose Guadalupe Chavez Rodriguez.

Viewing was held at Stanton Memorial Funeral Home, 408 St. Peter St., on Thursday, Dec. 5. Funeral were Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at St. Lawrence Church, with interment following at the Garden City Cemetery in Garden City.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to be sent to either or both of the accounts that have been set up for the family at Garden City Bank, P.O. Box 90, Garden City, Texas 79739.
