Juan M. Rodriguez, 85, of Big Spring died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, at his residence. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.

A vigil service was held Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel.
He was born March 30, 1928, in Big Spring, Texas, and married Maria Escovedo on Oct. 29, 1954, in Big Spring, Texas. She preceded him in death Jan. 26, 2005.

Juan was a lifelong resident of Big Spring, except for six years he lived in Rapid City, South Dakota. He worked as a mason for many years, worked for the railroad in South Dakota and worked as a custodian for all the Big Spring schools, retiring from SWCID.

He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing and loved watching his grandchildren play baseball. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish.

Survivors include eight sons, Juan Rodriguez Jr. and wife Sylvia, Frank Rodriguez and wife Cindy, Jimmy Rodriguez and wife Glenda, Andy Rodriguez and wife Roberta, Joe Thomas Rodriguez, Raymon Rodriguez and wife Priscilla, Gene Rodriguez and wife Sandra, all of Big Spring and Larry Rodriguez and wife Pat of San Angelo; two daughters, Dorothy Rodriguez and Pauline Hilario, both of Big Spring; 39 grandchildren; and 44 great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Tony Rodriguez; a grandson; two granddaughters; a great-grandson; one sister; and four brothers.
