Karen Hernandez, 55, of Big Spring, died Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, at her residence. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, at Mount Olive Memorial Park with the Rev. Doug Shelley officiating.

Karen was born March 14, 1956, in Big Spring, Texas, to Laura and Clarence Trawick. She has been a lifetime resident of Big Spring. He married Gilbert Hernandez on Feb. 25, 1995, in Big Spring. She was a homemaker.

Karen is survived by her husband Gilbert Hernandez of Big Spring; one daughter, Laura Trawick of Big Spring; one son, Larry Ward of Colorado City; mother, Laura Nichols of Rosebud, Ark.; three brothers, Dewayne Trawick and Darrell Trawick, both of Rosebud, Ark., and Jimmy Trawick of Big Spring; one sister, Cathy Blackmon of Dallas; six grandchildren, Ashley Knox of Big Spring, Justin Trawick and David Orneales, both of Colorado City, and Zepen Blount, Taylin Ward and Joseph Ward, all of Sherman, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Trawick.

Pallbearers will be Shannon Feaster, Tracy Feaster, Brandon Feaster, T.J. Evans and Justin Trawick.
