Kathleen Lewis, 91, of Midland, formerly of Stanton, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2013. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at First Baptist Church in Stanton with the Rev. David Harp and Phil Stroud officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton.

She was born in Colorado City, Texas and married R. S. Lewis. He preceded her in death. She attended Courtney School and graduated from Texas Technological College in 1941. She and her husband farmed for many years. She served with the Martin County Sheriff's Department, as Martin County Treasurer and treasurer of the Evergreen Cemetery. Later in life Kathleen operated the local flower and gift shop.

She is survived by her sons, James Lewis and his wife, Rosalind of Midland, Texas and Charles Lewis of Stanton, Texas; four grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by her father, J.D. McCreless, mother Anna McCreless, and brothers Arnold and JD Jr. She was also proceed in death by her beloved grandson, Pfc. Clayton W. Henson, who was killed in action in Southern Iraq in 2004.
