Katy Hise, 95, of Big Spring, Texas died Wednesday, Oct. 02, 2013. The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Myers & Smith Chapel with burial at Trinity Memorial Park.

She was born Dec. 7, 1917, in Brown County, Texas to Virginia and John Griffith. She had been a resident of Big Spring since 1959, moving from Andrews County. She was employed by Howard County for a number of years as director of the county's welfare program. She was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Kay Burns of Big Spring; one son, Barney Hise of Coahoma, Texas; five grandchildren, Alyssa Cerney, Andi Eggers, Nick Hise, Jaclyn Hise and Heather Hise; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Hise, son-in-law, Wayne Burns; four sisters and one brother.

The family suggests memorials to their favorite charity.
