KBSB urges residents to go native while planting

July 14, 2014

If you plant it, will it grow?

That is a question members of Keep Big Spring Beautiful can answer after creating a native and adaptive plant demonstration garden at the Dora Roberts Community Center.

“We hope people will visit it and see what plants will work,” said Jan Hansen, of KBBB who co-chaired the project along with Willia Ledford. “Hopefully, they will go home and start supplementing these water wise plants for other plants and grasses that use more water since we are being prohibited on our water usage in this area.”
