Ken Harris, 70, of Big Spring, formerly of San Angelo, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, at his residence. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, at Myers & Smith Chapel with Chaplain Scott Jimenez officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Trinity Memorial Park.

He was born May 10, 1941, in San Angelo to Marietta and J. B. Harris. He was a lifetime resident of San Angelo until moving to Big Spring in 1972. He married Bernice Helen Bojanowski on Jan. 20, 1962, in Wyndotte, Mich. She preceded him in death on July 19, 1999.

He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. He worked a number of years at Winn Dixie and then at Southwestern A-1 Pest Control until retirement.

He is survived by one daughter, Denise McCombs and her husband John of Big Spring; one son, Ken Harris Jr. of Lubbock; a friend who was like a son, Tony Espinoza of Lubbock; two brothers, Gary Harris of Big Spring and Jim Harris and his wife Ginger of Ohio; a sister, Nancy Mabry and her husband Jim of New Mexico; his mother, Marietta Harris of Big Spring; three grandchildren, Johnny McComb and his wife Kayla, and Mark McComb, all of Big Spring, and Kendra Hill and her husband Paul of Florida; and three great grandchildren, Hayden McComb, Kali Hill and Brette Hill.

In addition to his father and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Carl Harris; and one sister, Francis Webber.

Pallbearers will be David Henry, Brayden Miles, Ray Kennedy, Michael Richardson, Duffy Vassar and Jerry Dean.
