Kiwanis pancake supper Friday

March 7, 2013

Flipping for flapjacks? Begging for bacon? Swooning for sausage?

If that's the case, the Kiwanis Club of Big Spring has a deal for you.
The club's annual Pancake Supper is scheduled for Friday evening at Howard College's cafeteria and you can eat your fill of the above-mentioned food items for only $6.

Serving will be from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the college cafeteria, located inside the student union building.

Tickets can be purchased at the door Friday or in advance at the Big Spring Chamber of Commerce or from any Kiwanis Club member.

The supper is the club's major fundraiser during the year and has been a local mainstay for more than 60 years.

“This is a long-standing tradition,” said club member Ann Duncan. “We have people who remember having their grandparents take them and they have taken their children and grandchildren.

“This is something people look forward to each year and it's something we want to keep going as long as we can,” Duncan added.

Money raised from the supper will be used to benefit youth-oriented service projects in Big Spring, including the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club and Westside Daycare Center.
