L. Wayne 'Bus' Renshaw

GRAND PRAIRIE — L. Wayne “Bus” Renshaw, 85, formerly of Big Spring passed away May 20, 2013, in Arlington, Texas.

Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2013, at Aurora Cemetery in Aurora, Texas, with the Rev. Calvary Callender officiating. Family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Friday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home, prior to the service.

Pallbearers include David VanMeter, Arch VanMeter, Howard Callender and Greg Blackmore.

Bus was born Sept. 6, 1927, in Decatur, Texas, to Lafayette Wayne and Merle Margarette (VanMeter) Renshaw. He was a graduate of Rhome High School in Rhome, Texas.

Bus was united in marriage to Patricia Jean McGinnis in 1946 while serving in the United States Army Air Corp during WWII. Bus later married Greta Elizabeth Woods in 1968. He retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone as an engineer.

Bus enjoyed traveling and spending time with his children, grandchildren and friends in Grand Prairie.

Survivors include his three sons, David Renshaw and Marisela of Frisco, Doug Renshaw of Austin and Dan Renshaw and wife Maria of San Antonio; four grandchildren, Mary and Micki Renshaw of San Antonio and Elisabeth and David William Renshaw of Frisco; a brother, Larry Renshaw and wife Carolyn of Pittsburg, Texas; and a friend, Bobbie Cochran.
