Lady Buffs rally

November 30, 2011

The Forsan Lady Buffs spotted Grape Creek a nine-point lead in the first quarter before storming back to take a commanding decision in Tuesday night's basketball action.

Cheyenne Galloway led the girls with 10 points and six rebounds as the Lady Buffs shut the door on Grape Creek, starting in the second quarter and rolling through the second half.

“The kids played great defense in the second half,” Head Coach Robert Hillinger said. “They limited Grape Creek to two field goals in the entire half.”

After falling behind 11-2 after the first frame, Forsan outscored Grape Creek 11-5 in the second period, 9-3 in the third and 11-2 in the final frame for a 33-21 victory, improving their record to 3-2 on the year.

Like Galloway, Jahnia Willard and Ali Knight both grabbed six rebounds. Willard and Knight also added six and four points respectively.
Raegan Haggard hit for five points while grabbing five rebounds, with Maria Ortiz putting up two points with her five rebounds.

Brittney Hergert recorded four points and Kayla Tilley added two.
The Lady Buffs will be playing in the Bearkat Booster Club Classic tournament in Garden City Thursday at 11:30 a.m.
