Lady Liberty gets a nose job (and a lot of other repairs)

It may be tedious work, but someone has to do it. And someone is.

Terry Kessler — owner of Hester's Mechanical Contractors Inc. — undertook the task of repairing Lady Liberty about a month ago as a way to bring his company together.

“The main goal was to get these guys working together,” Kessler said. “As you can tell, by the way they are working on her … it worked.”

Lady Liberty was damaged by a West Texas wind storm last spring and was removed from her post in front of the Municipal Auditorium and warehoused until repairs could be made.
