Lady Steers look good at Bev Ball Classic

August 19, 2013

Big Spring volleyball won 4-of-6 matches at the Bev Ball Classic Tournament in Abilene over the weekend. The Lady Steers will host Andrews on Tuesday.

ABILENE — Big Spring volleyball enjoyed a successful weekend at the Bev Ball Classic Tournament, at which the state-ranked Lady Steers won four-of-six matches against a wide array of schools.

After losses to Lubbock Coronado and Burleson on Friday, BSHS rebounded with a win over Water Valley to close out the evening. Saturday, The Lady Steers racked up wins against Brownwood, Sweetwater and San Angelo Lake View.

Big Spring Head Coach Lynn Osborne prefers a tough preseason schedule, which has proven helpful in a competitive district with three-of-six teams boasting a Top 20 state ranking.

The Lady Steers will host Andrews on Tuesday at the high school, with varsity taking the court at 6 p.m.
